Kumari Alla - Avissawella

This is a small but, elegant waterfall situated very close to Colombo. In Awissawella which is only 2hrs away from Colombo city. You have to travel about 1.5 km along puwakpitiya road.



A simple short waterfall which is made from natural four water streams. The streams are from Pittukande Moutnain and Dukkalahelena Mountain meet with two other streams, one from Hewahinda and one from Illukovil, at the Puwakpitiya Aman Oya (river). All of them are gathered on this point. So it is wide, but only 4m height.



People in that village says a story about how the name Kumari made of. They says that Kumari, the daughter of King Rajasinghe has died by drowing there.

All the people who visits here having a bath in this fresh, cold water. Also please keep in mind not to liter all around.
